Two Words

Day 2--Two words I would say to my younger self

Dear Younger SA,

Stay prayerful...

You give your life to God and suddenly, hell's gates open. Your life changes forever but trouble doesn't last forever. You go through a lot but you are NEVER alone. It will take you many years to understand that but you are not alone--even at your lowest point.

So stay prayerful, girlfriend, it gets better. Not necessarily in your circumstances but in your growth process... It's all a part of your process, your go-through. You'll be happy; you'll be sad. You'll hurt, you'll lose, you'll gain, you'll achieve. You'll fall but you'll get back up.

Keep the faith, Sista. God's got a great plan for you--something only you can do for His Kingdom.

Stay prayerful...

What's in a name?

A friend has charged me with a 30 day journal challenge. As usual, I am a bit behind but today is catch up day. So here goes...

Day 1--Name your journal

My journal's name is BUT GOD because I can honestly say I do not know how I have gotten this far. My only answer is BUT GOD....

I have this vision and from where I am sitting, I do not see how it will come to pass. But God does. So I will keep trusting Him and seeking Him. And just like that, problem solved.

But God...

Four minutes that will change your life!

Please Everyone, take FOUR minutes and watch this video. You will never be the same and you will never look at others the same...AGAIN!!

Let's love more and judge never because you never know what the person next to you is dealing with. Yeah, I know you may be dealing with some things in your life but always remember, there is someone out there that would love to have to deal with your problems.

Soli Deo Gloria,

SA Brown

Black Pearls Blog Tours: Still Not Satisfied by SA Brown

Black Pearls Blog Tours: Still Not Satisfied by SA BrownChristian Goodman loves the ladies. So when an old girlfriend calls, it’s game on—until her play forces Chris to the sidelines. While there, his grandmother and best friend lose faith in him. With no one left, Chris turns to a psychiatrist and finds Dr. Devin Rainey in her own struggle.

Chris enters her life only to serve as a reminder of what she is missing, thus, creating tension between the two. She fights to remain professional but personal needs blur the lines. In the end, Chris turns to an unlikely ally as he learns why he is Still Not Satisfied.

Excerpt from Still Not Satisfied:

Moonlight illuminated the room as Chris stumbled into his bathroom. He admired his silhouette as he walked past the mirror. Even his muscular frame was sexy in the darkness. Chris’ self-admiration was interrupted when he noticed a small figure reflecting in the corner of the mirror. His mind had always played tricks on him, and lately the occurrence had been more consistent. As always, when he looked over his shoulder, nothing was there. This time would be no different.

When he returned to his bed, he found himself alone. His lady friend had dressed and left without making a sound, but she left a note on his nightstand.

We really should stop this.

Chris chuckled. “That’s what you said the last time and the time before that.”

Chris spoke as if talking to her. He crumpled the note and lay back on his poster bed. Deep down, he knew she was right. As he stared into space, he hoped he would sleep peacefully this night. Just one night without the dream. Please, just one night.

Some men are handsome. Some men are charismatic. Christian James Goodman was both. Standing at six-foot-two and 220 pounds, Chris was simply beautiful. His chiseled body and broad physique got him a lot of attention from the ladies. His warm smile and mocha color added to his style. His hazel eyes simply perpetuated his swagger while his strong baritone voice made the women yearn with desire. Yes, Chris had several physical attributes that men would pay money for and the confidence to put them to use.

Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler...

It's that time, y'all!!! The parades, the balls, the parties, the beads!!!! Throw me something, mister!!! The music--a genre of its own. It's Mardi Gras, folks. So let the good times roll...

I didn't know a thing about Mardi Gras until I attended the University of Southern Mississippi. All I knew was I was getting two days off. So yeah, roll on good times!!!!

So, friends, enjoy your Mardi Gras. Just remember why you get a Mardi Gras and what it means to you as Christian. What are you giving up since you are "doing what you wanna" today?

Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. The purpose is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ--His suffering and sacrifice, his life, death, burial, and resurrection.
